Each year Olney Elite host "What it Takes to Be Recruited".  This forum provides athletes and parents with a clear roadmap to navigating the college recruitment process. The discussion outlined recruiting timelines for different levels of college athletics, emphasizing when and how to engage with programs. Academic standards were reviewed to highlight the importance of grades, test scores, and NCAA eligibility requirements. The forum also explored exposure strategies, including showcase events, highlight reels, and leveraging social media to get noticed. Attendees received practical tips for contacting college coaches, from crafting professional introductory emails to effective follow-up communication. Finally, the session addressed the growing role of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, helping athletes understand how to prepare for and manage their personal brand.

The high school recruitment process for athletes involves showcasing talent through game performance, highlight films, and participation in competitive tournaments or showcases. College coaches evaluate athletes not only on skill but also on academics, character, and communication when considering scholarship or roster opportunities.
